I’ve been a trainer for over ten years. During these years, I’ve trained toddlers as young as two and adults as old as eighty. This experience in training helped me understand how people’s fitness needs change throughout life. As a gym owner as well, one of my goals has always been to ensure that we keep workout-related injuries at zero. However, as I myself approached 40, I realized I was becoming more susceptible to injuries and had to adjust my own training as a precaution. This personal experience, coupled with years of observing diverse clients, highlighted the fact that our energetic large group classes of 8 to 16 people weren’t suitable for everyone.
For example, my mother, who spent over 30 years as a secretary, suffers from shoulder issues and had never come to the gym with me. Although we modified the workouts significantly to fit everyone’s needs, she watched from afar; intimidated as she needed workouts more slow paced and tailored. It became clear that a more specialized approach was necessary to effectively and safely serve people 40 and above.
The idea for Temple Terrace Training (TTT) started brewing in my head, and I gradually moved towards it. I wanted it to be Tampa Bay’s first fitness studio dedicated to adults 40 and beyond, and now the vision is a reality.
Drawing on over a decade of expertise in adult fitness, our programs address the unique challenges of midlife fitness.
